Privacy Policy for Quick Pay UG
Quick Pay UG helps Android users save merchant details and initiate Mobile Money payment requests through their phone’s USSD dialer. This policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information handled by the app
Information kept on your device
When you use Quick Pay UG without signing in, merchant details you save, payment activity shown in the app, and app preferences are stored on your device. Scanning a QR code or numeric merchant code uses the camera to read the code on your device; Quick Pay UG does not upload the camera image. The detected code is placed in the merchant-code field for you to review.
Optional Google sign-in and cloud sync
If you choose Google sign-in, Firebase Authentication processes your Google account identifier and the profile information Google provides to the app, such as your name, email address, and profile photo. When signed in, Quick Pay UG backs up your saved merchants, recent payment-request history (merchant code or name, amount, and time), and selected app preferences in Firebase Cloud Firestore so they can sync across your devices. This backup is private to your account and is not automatically added to the community directory.
Optional shared merchant directory
You can choose to share an individual merchant entry using the Share with Quick Pay users option. The merchant code, merchant name, and selected network (MTN or Airtel) become searchable by other Quick Pay users. Entries are user-submitted suggestions and are not verified by Quick Pay UG. Other users may see the entry and an aggregate contributor count.
Your Google name, email, account identifier, saved list, payment amounts, and payment activity are not shown to other users. Our server uses a one-way pseudonymous identifier derived from your account to prevent duplicate contributions, let you withdraw your contribution, apply abuse limits, and deduplicate reports. Directory searches send the query, network, and country to our Firebase service for matching. Quick Pay UG uses search queries to return results and does not store them as search history.
You can stop sharing an entry from its edit screen in Saved Merchants. Withdrawing your contribution removes your association; an entry may remain while other users continue contributing it. You can report inaccurate entries. Entries receiving multiple distinct reports are hidden while reviewed.
Advertising and app integrity
Quick Pay UG displays Google AdMob ads to users who have not enabled Quick Pay Infinity. The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share device or advertising identifiers, IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), ad interactions, and diagnostic information for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google processes this data under its own policies.
Firebase App Check uses Google Play Integrity on Android to help verify requests from genuine app installations and protect the community service from abuse. App Check may process app and device integrity signals for this purpose.
How information is used
- Create and open a USSD payment request for you to review and complete.
- Store or sync the content and preferences you choose to save.
- Provide the optional shared merchant directory, prevent duplicate entries, and handle reports.
- Serve ads to users who do not have Quick Pay Infinity.
- Protect the service against abuse and troubleshoot reliability issues.
Quick Pay UG does not process Mobile Money payments, access your Mobile Money account, collect your Mobile Money PIN, or read the response to a USSD session. You approve or cancel a payment in the prompt provided by your mobile network. The app does not dial USSD in the background.
Sharing
Only the directory fields you explicitly choose to share (merchant code, name, and network) are searchable by other Quick Pay UG users. Google and Firebase process account, sync, directory, security, and advertising-related data as described above. Google AdMob may share data with advertising and measurement partners under its policies and applicable law. We do not sell your personal information.
Retention and deletion
Device-only information remains on your device until you delete it, clear app storage, or uninstall Quick Pay UG. Signed-in cloud backups remain associated with your account until you request deletion. To request deletion of your Quick Pay UG account and associated cloud data, use Request account deletion in the Google account panel in the app, or email info@potentiamotus.biz from the Google account used to sign in. Include the account email and identify the request as “Quick Pay UG account deletion.” We may ask you to verify control of the account. After verification, we will remove the account’s synced data and community contributions. Data Google holds for ads, billing, security, or legal requirements may be retained under Google’s policies and applicable requirements.
Deleting a saved merchant from your device does not withdraw its directory contribution. To withdraw it, turn off Share with Quick Pay users in that merchant’s edit screen before deleting it. If other users contributed the same merchant, their contributions may keep its directory entry available.
Permissions
The camera is used when you choose to scan a QR code or numeric merchant code. SIM and phone permissions, when required by Android, are used to prepare or open the USSD dial request you initiate. The app does not request access to contacts, SMS, or your Mobile Money PIN.
Children
Quick Pay UG is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices and rights
You can use core payment-request and local-save features without signing in or contributing directory entries. You can edit or remove local saved merchants and activity, withdraw an individual community contribution, sign out of Google sync, or request account and cloud-data deletion as described above. You can also reset your advertising ID through Android settings.
Third-party services and changes
Quick Pay UG uses Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Check/Play Integrity, Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), Google Play billing, and Google sign-in. Their processing is governed by Google’s applicable privacy and service terms. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when a change is made.
